"BIZOUX is a Japanese brand that offers colorstone jewelry crafted from over 100 types of natural stones carefully selected from around the world. Our mission is to help each customer find their 'most beloved piece,' and we offer a diverse range of jewelry — rings, necklaces, earrings, and more — designed to complement everyday life," says Ms. Hasegawa.

The brand puts great care into helping customers discover "their own favorite" through birthstones or preferred colors, and its greatest appeal, she says, lies in making it easy to enjoy a wide variety of natural stone jewelry in daily life.


Designing the Customer's Desire to Buy

BIZOUX's EC operations team, which Ms. Hasegawa is part of, consists of five members, each specializing in areas such as advertising, social media, and UI/UX improvement. "My main responsibility is improving the UI/UX of the purchase journey," says Ms. Hasegawa. Leveraging Shopify, she is involved not only in website UI improvements but also in designing membership programs and initiatives to drive customers from online to physical stores, all in pursuit of a better shopping experience. Drawing on her experience in e-commerce at Tsuchiya Kaban, she finds great fulfillment in pursuing experiences that genuinely satisfy customers.

Shopify Opens a New Horizon for EC Operations

BIZOUX adopted Shopify in 2021. While they had already been focused on online sales, they sought further business expansion and operational efficiency — and a key deciding factor was the ability to leverage the know-how gained by their sister company Tsuchiya Kaban, which had already adopted Shopify.

Ms. Hasegawa speaks enthusiastically about the benefits of adopting Shopify. "Even with a small team, we can now execute initiatives at an incredibly fast pace. Being able to operate stably without worrying about server load is a huge advantage. Plus, the design capabilities are so high that even non-engineers can create attractive pages one after another. The entire team can participate in page creation, which allows us to collaborate efficiently — that's a major benefit."

Delivering the Story of Jewelry to Customers on the Other Side of the Screen

BIZOUX employs a variety of creative approaches to communicate the appeal of its products to customers who purchase without seeing them in person. "We constantly update product photos and revisit designs and tone-and-manner to reflect current trends. Customers have told us they find the photos very appealing, and we can feel that conveying the background story behind a product increases purchase intent," says Ms. Hasegawa. By focusing on the rarity of materials and the artisan's handcraftsmanship, they create deeper emotional connections — and they've even received customer feedback saying they "feel a sense of destiny" when choosing a piece.

Deepening Customer Engagement Through Newsletters and Seamless Online-to-Store Integration

Email newsletters go beyond simple product introductions. "By delivering personalized information to each customer — such as gemstone trivia and coordinate suggestions — we build deeper relationships and strengthen customer engagement," says Ms. Hasegawa.

They also put considerable effort into integrating their stores and online channels. Since BIZOUX handles higher-priced items and many customers prefer to purchase after seeing a product in person, the brand actively promotes in-store events online to attract interest and encourage store visits.

Data-Driven EC Growth Strategy Realized Through Partnership with StoreHero

When BIZOUX's team requests specific data combinations such as "we want to extract data with this particular combination," StoreHero responds flexibly to extract and analyze the needed data. Moreover, by proactively suggesting perspectives and data points that BIZOUX might have missed — such as "have you considered looking at this data as well?" — they make a significant contribution to campaign planning.

StoreHero is also involved in CRM operations. "Previously, we couldn't allocate sufficient resources to verifying automated emails due to the complexity of product data integration and the risk of unintended sends. But now that StoreHero handles nearly all the email combinations and delivery settings, we can focus on content creation and final checks. Thanks to them, we've been able to actively leverage automated email delivery," says Ms. Hasegawa, expressing her appreciation for StoreHero's contributions.


New Challenges on the Horizon: BIZOUX's Vision for the Future

Ms. Hasegawa speaks with conviction about their future plans. "Going forward, we aim to grow BIZOUX's fanbase even further and drive more visits to our physical stores. In particular, since colorstone jewelry is still not widely known to many people, we want to expand awareness of its appeal."

Global expansion is also on the horizon. "We've been seeing more international customers at locations like our GINZA SIX store. Shopify has the strength of making it easy to build global sites, and we want to leverage that to actively approach overseas markets. We currently handle wholesale in Taiwan, but in the future we'd like to strengthen international shipping and bring BIZOUX jewelry to even more customers around the world."
