What the Power of Clenching Taught Me
"Today, I went to acupuncture."
At first glance, this has nothing to do with work.
Yet behind those words was an unexpected realization.
It turned out that the excessive force from clenching could be damaging my teeth.
The cause was a habit of jaw clenching, and the recommendation was not merely to treat the symptoms, but to address the root cause.
There are options like mouthguards and Botox injections.
Each has a degree of effectiveness, but they are ultimately nothing more than "symptomatic treatments."
That is exactly why I chose the approach of "treating the root cause."
The "Symptomatic Treatment" Hidden in Growth Support
This experience mirrors the day-to-day work of growth support in a surprisingly accurate way.
What clients often ask for are clear, tangible results.
UI improvements, new initiatives, impactful measures.
In a sense, these are like "fast-acting medicine."
Of course, if sales go up as a result, there is real value in that.
But in practice, deeper issues are often lurking beneath the surface.
- Why is this initiative even necessary?
- Why haven't we seen results until now?
- What is the thing that truly needs to change?
Without facing these questions head-on,
no matter how many initiatives are stacked on top of each other, the same problems will keep "recurring."
The Essence Is "Confronting the Cause"
What acupuncture taught me is this:
"The source of pain is not always where the pain is felt."
This applies directly to growth support as well.
Rather than simply responding to surface-level issues,
we need to look at the underlying structures, habits, and assumptions behind them.
Not just short-term results,
but to achieve "reproducible, sustainable growth" over the long term,
this perspective is essential.
Becoming Someone Clients Turn to When They Want to "Change from the Root"
The ideal is to hear a client say this:
"I don't want a quick fix. I want to change things from the root. Can you help?"
To earn those words,
we need to be more than just someone who executes tactics.
We need to be a partner who digs into the true nature of the problem.
StoreHero's Growth Support
StoreHero's growth support does not stop at
simply delivering "effective tactics."
We embed ourselves deeply in the client's business,
work together to uncover what truly needs to be solved,
and create change from the root up.
It may sometimes look like the long way around.
But what lies at the end of that path is "growth that doesn't break."
From the small, everyday moments,
we question what support should really look like.
It is that kind of thinking from each individual
that shapes the growth of StoreHero.
