Setting Up Review Widgets

Judge.me offers a variety of review widgets. Below, we'll explain how to set up each one.

Product Reviews

In Settings, under Review Widget > Installation, you'll find the code snippet needed to add product reviews. Copy the code and place it in the appropriate section of your Liquid file.

You can customize the appearance of the product review widget under Widget Header, Widget Body, and Widget Form.

You can choose from three different widget display styles.

In Widget Form, you can translate the labels for the review form fields.

You can configure whether to automatically publish all reviews or to manually review and approve them before publishing.

Preview Badge

The Preview Badge is a star rating widget that appears near the product name on product pages, collection pages, and more.

Review Carousel

The Review Carousel is a carousel-style widget that aggregates product reviews. You can place it on your homepage or landing pages to showcase UGC (user-generated content) through review highlights.

You can also configure how many reviews to display in the carousel and set the auto-slide interval.

All Reviews Page

The All Reviews Page widget displays a comprehensive list of all product reviews in your store. By collecting photo reviews and featuring them on the All Reviews Page, you can create a vibrant, social-proof-driven experience throughout your store.

Question and Answers

Question and Answers is a Q&A tab widget within the product review widget. It allows customers to submit questions about a product directly on the product page, and store owners can respond to them.

There are many more widgets available, so please install whichever ones you need using the same method described above.

Product Reviews

You can view collected reviews in the Reviews menu. If you have manual publishing enabled, click Publish to display a review on the product page.

You can also reply to reviews directly.

Review Requests

You can request reviews from customers via email. Go to the Requests menu > Email Templates to edit your review request emails.

You can use separate templates depending on whether the order contains a single product or multiple products.

You can also embed the review submission form directly inside the review request email. Including the form in the email tends to increase review completion rates.

However, please note that when a customer submits a review through the in-email form, their full name is automatically inserted as the reviewer name. If you prefer to display initials instead of full names, make sure to turn off the auto-publish feature so you can edit the name before publishing.

In addition to product reviews, you can also add a form to collect shop reviews (reviews about the store itself) in your review request emails. NPS (Net Promoter Score) collection can also be configured through the shop review settings.

Both product review and shop review forms can be edited under Custom Forms in the More menu.

You can ask customers to share additional information — such as age, height, or weight — alongside their review, and display that information in the review widget. Consider collecting a few pieces of relevant data that would be helpful to shoppers evaluating the product.

In Settings under Review Requests, you can configure the timing for sending review requests — for example, how many days after shipping to send the initial request and how many follow-up reminders to send.

Under Conditions, you can define who should receive review request emails — for example, you can exclude sold-out products from receiving requests or configure a blacklist.

Social Push

Social Push is a feature that automatically posts reviews to Facebook and Twitter. You can configure Social Push settings under Settings > Social Media.

Configuration options include the ratio of new reviews mixed into social posts, the minimum star rating required, and whether to require photos.

Rewards

You can automatically send coupons to customers who leave a review. Under Settings > Rewards, you can configure what type of coupon to issue and the conditions required to receive one.

If photo or video reviews are important to your store, you can restrict coupon delivery to only those customers who submit a review with a photo or video attached.

Integrations

Judge.me can integrate with other Shopify apps.

For example, you can display reviews during upsell or recommendation flows, or embed a review widget inside a page builder app.

By integrating with Weglot, a multilingual translation app, you can automatically translate not only the review widget but the review content itself. This is especially useful for multilingual stores.

There are many other app integrations available, so try connecting Judge.me with the apps you're already using.
