How to Integrate Wishlist Plus with Klaviyo for List Building and CRM

Using a wishlist app purely as a wishlist feature is a waste of its potential. If that's all you're doing, you're only getting about half the value out of the app.

If you take the time to read through the app's documentation, you'll discover a wide range of capabilities. We strongly encourage you to explore the docs and make the most of what the app has to offer.

That said, not everyone has time to dig through app documentation. In this article, we'll show you how to integrate Wishlist Plus with Klaviyo to use it as a CRM tool.

We hope this article inspires you to get more out of your wishlist app.

Integrating Wishlist Plus with Klaviyo

By integrating Wishlist Plus with Klaviyo, you can send wishlist reminder emails, back-in-stock alerts, price drop notifications, and low-stock alerts directly through Klaviyo.

Let's get started with the integration. First, open the Integrations section in Wishlist Plus and select Klaviyo.

Although hidden in the screenshot, you'll need to copy your Klaviyo Public API Key and Private API Key and enter them here (find your API keys under Klaviyo Account > Settings > API Keys). Then, activate the triggers you want to use.

Once a trigger is activated, the corresponding event data will be sent to Klaviyo whenever that event occurs, allowing you to leverage it within Klaviyo.

  • A sign-up confirmation email is sent.
  • A product is added to the wishlist.
  • A wishlisted product has low stock.
  • A wishlisted product goes on sale.
  • A wishlist is shared.

Syncing with Klaviyo Lists

When a customer saves a wishlist while logged in and subscribed to email marketing, their email address is sent to Klaviyo along with their wishlist data. You can configure which Klaviyo list they get added to.

Set the "Choose Mailing List provider" option to Klaviyo, enter your Private API Key and List ID, then save. You can also enable double opt-in if desired.

Additionally, when a customer is not logged in and tries to save a wishlist, a form like the one below is displayed, allowing you to collect their email address and opt-in consent (note: translation of this form must be requested from Wishlist Plus support).

Creating Segments in Klaviyo Using Wishlist Data

Once Wishlist Plus and Klaviyo are connected, data is sent to Klaviyo every time a product is wishlisted or a wishlisted product's price drops. Let's start by using this data to build segments in Klaviyo.

When you select "What someone has done (or not done)," you'll see options prefixed with "Swym" appear in the metric dropdown. You can use these to build your segments.

For example, the configuration below creates a segment of customers who wishlisted a product in the Jacket category and that product went on sale within the last 7 days — perfect for sending an email like "The jacket you saved is now on sale — take another look!"

Using Wishlist Data in Klaviyo Flows

You can leverage this integration in Flows as well. For example, the setup below creates a Flow that automatically sends an email as soon as a product is added to a wishlist.

You can display the wishlisted product in the email and link directly to it, encouraging the customer to revisit. If you delay the email by one day, it doubles as a reminder email.

With the setup below, you can automatically send a notification email when a wishlisted product goes on sale — a great "final nudge" email to push customers toward a purchase.

There are even more possibilities, such as automatically notifying customers when stock is running low. Explore the options and find the approach that best fits your brand and product lineup.
