10/8 (Wed) Shopify × Growth Meetup (In-Person Event) ~ How to Scale Your One-Person EC Business by Automating Sales Through Virality — Takuya Miura's Content Strategy ~
At this Growth Meetup, we are pleased to welcome Takuya Miura of Miura Takuya Shoten as our guest speaker.
Event Overview
To grow a business, reaching new audiences is essential.
However, content published by EC businesses tends to skew heavily toward product and service "explanations" — and while the information may be accurate, it rarely spreads organically or translates directly into sales.
Of course, clear explanations matter, but they alone won't reach people.
What's needed is content created with "virality" in mind.
In particular, "empathy content" — content crafted from an angle slightly removed from the product itself — has strong viral potential. It spreads naturally and works to semi-automatically support sales and customer acquisition.
That's exactly why we believe content creation has become an essential skill for businesses today.
Takuya Miura's Approach to Content
Content is "output that has the potential to spread."
Explanatory materials and product specs are part of content, but on their own they rarely go viral. The potential for sharing only emerges when content touches on a challenge faced by customers or society at large.
So why do companies so often struggle to move their content forward?
There are two main reasons.
- Lack of clear definition: Production moves forward without a clear boundary between product descriptions and marketing content, so virality is never factored in.
- Organizational barriers: Fear of failure leads to excessive caution, stripping away speed and flexibility.
Solutions and Practical Approaches
- Organize content along two axes: "explanation" and "virality"
- Offer "empathy" and "learning" within a range that doesn't stray too far from the product
- Overcome organizational barriers by "clarifying definitions" and repeating "small experiments"
